A SAQA Registered Designation and qualifying learners are registered and licensed with the IWH-PB.

US 229999 “Perform a range of advanced fall arrest rescues”

Learner must already hold US 229998, US 229995 & US 229994

NQF Training Accredited by: SAQA, SSETA and IWH - PB

Who needs this Training: Technicians needing to perform high-angle rescues for people working at height. The person credited with this unit standard is able to understand and perform a range of advanced fall arrest rescues while maintaining the safety and protection of people while working at height, where there is a risk of injury from a fall. They will be able to ensure that the correct equipment is selected and that this equipment is safe for use. The learner will also be able to follow safe fall arrest and double rope principles when performing advanced fall arrest rescue.  

Duration: 6 Days

Entry Requirements: Learner must already hold US 229998, US 229995 & US 229994. Original Certified copy of I.D Document, copy of valid OHS Medical Certificate stating fitness for Work at Height and First Aid level 1 certificate. Learners MUST be proficient in English reading and writing and Mathematical Literacy up to the level of Grade 11.

The Qualifying Learner is Capable of:

  • - Explaining the principles of fall arrest rescues and perform double rope manoeuvres.
  • - Selecting equipment for advanced fall arrest rescues.
  • - Explaining the requirements for equipment inspections.
  • - Conducting advanced fall arrest rescues.
