All Gravitek instructors are certified RAFAA trainers (two of which are accredited assessors) with extensive rope access experience.

We are committed to using instructors who work closely within the industry to ensure that our training reflects current work place demands.

Gravitek offers the following courses.

RAFAA Level 1

This 5-day course prepares candidates to work safely in a variety of industrial environments under appropriate supervision while preparing candidates for certification to Level 1.

Requirements:

  • Older than 18 years.
  • Doctor’s medical certificate - must use RAFAA Form S008.
  • Completed a level 1 training course conducted by a RAFAA accredited trainer.
  • Passed a level 1 assessment by a RAFAA assessor.
  • Paid the RAFAA registration fee.

RAFAA Level 2

This 5-day course focuses on advanced rigging and rescue skills required of a Lead Technician while preparing candidates for certification to Level 2.

Requirements:

  • Older than 18 years.
  • Doctor’s medical certificate - must use RAFAA Form S008.
  • Must have completed a first aid course as stipulated (St John’s Ambulance Level 1 or equivalent).
  • Must have a minimum education of standard 8 (form 10).
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months and 500 logged hours of varied work on rope experience as a level 1 access technician, before starting with level 2 training.
  • Completed a level 2 training course conducted by a RAFAA accredited trainer.
  • Passed a level 2 assessment by a RAFAA accredited assessor.
  • Comprehensive C.V.
  • Paid the RAFAA registration fee.

RAFAA Level 3

The 5-day Level 3 course focuses on challenging rescues, team leadership, and managing job site safety and documentation while preparing candidates for certification to Level 3.

Requirements:

  • Older than 21 years and demonstrate an acceptable level of maturity.
  • Doctors medical certificate - must use RAFAA Form S008.
  • Must have completed a first aid course as stipulated (St John’s Ambulance Level 1 equivalent).
  • Must have a minimum education of standard 10 (form 12).
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months and 750 hours of varied work on rope experience as a level 2 rope access technician, and a minimum of four years and 2000 logged hours total experience of varied work on rope, before starting with level 3 training.
  • Completed a level 3 training course conducted by a RAFAA accredited trainer.
  • Passed a level 3 assessment by a RAFAA assessor.
  • Comprehensive C.V.
  • Paid the RAFAA registration fee.
